Romans 12:2

Romans 12:2 says: 'Do not conform to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind'

I just want to park there. Some of you might be wondering why I am starting my first blog with this scripture? Well I believe this verse is key to living confidently in an ever changing world.

I love how it says do ot conform to the patterns of this world. How many of us are constantly conforming to the patterns and ways of this world whether it be through music, T.V., the way we dress the way we talk the way we treat others. I often hear teens say: 'I want to be different' and 'I dont want to be like everyone else' and there way of doing that often is this idea of shopping at Hot Topic or even shopping at High class places or standing up for 'gay rights' or for a different kind of music. And while all that will make you a bit different, its not reaching the core of who you are. All that only changes the outward appearence!

But what about the inward, what about deep down in your heart? Have you examined that lately? Have you stopped to think: hmm Maybe there are a few things I need to change?...You see its all good to "look" different on the outside but the outside is fleeting its fading!

Its the inside that matters and its the inside that will really reveal change! The bible says 'ut of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks'...

What are you speaking today? The heart is a deep concept and only God knows it better than anyone else. My dear one reading this, I do not say this to tell you your doing wrong or your a "bad" person. I say this to challenge your thinking and I want to encourage you today to ask God to help you to stand out in a positive way in a way that is not conforming to the patterns of this world! He loves you and He is the heart creator and the heart sustainer and the ULTIMATE heart changer!
